Berry to Share its Sustainability Expertise at Interpack
April 26, 2023
With sustainability being one of the overriding criteria for companies’ ongoing packaging requirements, Berry Global will take the opportunity through its participation at Interpack to help visitors navigate some of the challenges of sustainable pack development and explain one of the very latest solutions, to demonstrate how plastics can play a key role in the move to a circular economy.
Berry experts will give presentations on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th of May on two important topics: CleanStream® – Understanding Berry’s Industry-leading Recyclate, and Impact of the Proposed European Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulations. They will take place on the Berry Global stand (Hall 10, stand D18).
For the CleanStream® presentation, Berry CPI Circular Value Chain Director, Mark Roberts, will explain the technical background to the development of this outstanding recycling technology. This is the first of its kind solution to offer a domestically recovered, mechanically recycled food grade quality polypropylene recyclate at scale, which will close the loop for contact sensitive applications such as food and personal care.
In Impact of the Proposed European Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulations, Berry CPI Circular Economy Manager Ellen Seyda will outline some of the main requirements of this forthcoming proposed legislation with regard to plastic packaging and how they may affect the development of new packaging.
The presentations form an important part of Berry’s recently launched More Together campaign, which encourages collaboration across the entire value to chain to innovate and drive change to help the world move to a circular, net-zero economy.
“Strong partnerships are fundamental to all areas of our business,” commented Thierry Bernet, VP Circular Economy & Innovation, Berry CPI.
“For our customers, this means collaborating with them to help meet and exceed their sustainability goals through the development of innovative new packaging solutions, as well as supporting them on how best to navigate the changing regulatory environment and actively participating in recycling supply chains, factors which can often differ from country to country.
“We look forward to sharing our latest insights and developments, both during these presentations and in our ongoing conversations with visitors throughout Interpack.”
The CleanStream® and European Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulations presentations take place on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th May at 13.00 and 14.30, respectively.
