Berry Global Group, Inc. is pleased to announce they have been formally recognized by the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) for their Versalite™ cups. APR Design® Recognition provides third-party validation that the Versalite cup design and packaging components meet the highest criteria for recyclability and are compatible with the North American recycling system according to the APR Design Guide for Plastics Recyclability.
Versalite is Berry’s innovative patented technology that offers exceptional insulation for both hot and cold beverages while also prioritizing recyclability. The Versalite to-go cups are made from fully recyclable* #5 polypropylene (PP) and provide superior functionality, durability, and performance, including resistance to punctures and leaks, and are microwave-safe.
“We are pleased to receive the APR Design Recognition for our Versalite cups,” said Erica Colgan, product line director at Berry Global. “We know today’s consumers expect high-performing, environmentally responsible products. Our Versalite cups exceed expectations for performance, are fully recyclable*, and are just one example of our unwavering commitment to creating innovative and sustainable solutions that are good for consumers and good for the planet.”
“We want to congratulate Berry Global on receiving this important recognition for their Versalite cups, which meet the most stringent recyclability requirements necessary to receive APR Design for Recyclability Recognition,” said Steve Alexander, President and CEO of APR. “This distinction means Berry customers can be confident the Versalite cups support a circular economy, creating less waste and more efficient use of natural resources.”
