Sustainability Commitment Recognised
April 02, 2020
Berry Promens Montoir Roto has achieved the French Plastics federation label MORE (Mobilised for recycling) for its successful integration of its own generated scrap material back into the production process in line with the principles of the circular economy.
Established by the Federation of Plastics and Composites, the MORE label is awarded to manufacturers who source recycled plastics for their production. It is allocated each year on the basis of declarations by companies of the volumes of recycled raw materials consumed.
The label itself is based on the MORE (Monitoring Recyclates for Europe) platform, a digital tool launched in May 2019 by the European Plastics Converters (EuPC) trade body to detail the uptake of recycled polymers into products. The tool is designed to monitor and register the industry’s efforts to reach the EU target of 10 million tonnes of recycled polymers to be used annually by 2030.
“Plastics converting companies can make a vital contribution in the move towards a more circular economy for plastics,” comments Frank Barry, Managing Director, Berry Promens France SAS. “The MORE label provides a valuable endorsement of individual businesses efforts in this area and we were delighted to receive it. It underlines our continuing work to deliver effective sustainability throughout our operations, encapsulated by our ‘One MORE step to sustainability’ commitment.”
